Carbovasal Intensive Therapy
The Weißenstadt Spa Center at the lake offers a new circulation-promoting therapy using natural carbon dioxide gas, the Carbovasal Intensive Therapy.
CO2 is produced as a byproduct of aerobic metabolism in amounts ranging from 240 ml/min at rest to 4500 ml/min during peak athletic exertion and is removed from the body via the respiratory tract.
The gas quickly penetrates the skin and leads to the therapeutically desired dilation of blood vessels. Important effects include improved circulation and thus enhanced oxygen transport to tissues. Vein tension is improved, and minor blood pressure fluctuations can also be normalized.
This therapy is successfully used for the following conditions:
- All forms of circulatory disorders
- Vascular diseases
- Leg ulcers (open legs)
- Microcirculation disorders (in diabetes mellitus)
- Phantom pain
- Cellulite
What happens during this therapy?
Initially, the skin is moistened and warmed to increase the later absorption of carbon dioxide through the skin by tenfold. The patient is then placed in a specially developed plastic wrap, which is available as a full-body wrap covering up to the chest (starting from the legs). The plastic bags are tightly sealed with a belt, and natural carbon dioxide gas is then introduced. The natural CO2 acts intensively on the body for 18 minutes, significantly improving circulation by dilating the arteries and stimulating their pumping action. Blood flow properties are also improved, venous tone is increased (beneficial for varicose veins), and wound healing is promoted. The increased blood flow is noticeable as a strong warming sensation, sometimes accompanied by a pleasant tingling.
Note: Don't forget to rest afterward!!!

Cryotherapy
Principles of Action:
Neural reflex process: Skin surface temperature is reduced to below 5 degrees Celsius within 2–3 minutes (cold does not penetrate more than 1 mm under the skin).
Thermoreceptors under the skin surface are activated – vasoconstriction, nociceptors activated.
1. A counter-reaction occurs in the cortex, releasing endorphins and serotonin, resulting in pain relief.
2. Due to the broad activation of thermo- and nociceptors (faster conduction), there is an inhibition of signal transmission via the C-fiber system (slower conduction).
Principle: Fast-conducting pathways inhibit slow ones – causing desensitization or deactivation of nociceptors (reduced perception of stimuli).
Anti-inflammatory effects: T-helper cells are suppressed, and anti-inflammatory substances such as interleukins are activated.
Regulation of muscle tone, improved muscle circulation, and optimization of muscle metabolism.
Improvement of joint function.
Optimization of the cardiovascular system and energy metabolism.
Regulation of central activity levels, psychophysical performance stimulation.

BIA Measurement
Mode of Action
Using BIA measurement (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), we determine body composition at the Weißenstadt Spa Center. This is used to analyze parameters such as body fat, muscle mass, and water balance. The measurement usually takes only a few seconds and is completely painless and free of side effects.
With this electronic measurement method, results are available within a very short time, and the evaluation is then carried out by a dietitian from our team.
Radon Dry Bath
In the healing air room / radon dry bath, you inhale radon-containing air. At the same time, radon is also absorbed through the skin. The radon-enriched air promotes cell regeneration.
INDICATIONS:
- Respiratory complaints and diseases
- Chronic sinusitis
- Chronic skin diseases
- Degenerative / rheumatic diseases of the musculoskeletal system
Galvanic Baths
At the spa center, we offer various types of galvanic baths (2-cell bath, 4-cell bath, full-body galvanic bath). The electric current causes a prolonged dilation of blood vessels and promotes improved blood circulation through electrical stimulation. As a result, the baths enhance circulation, relieve pain, and stimulate nerve activity. The application may be perceived as a pleasant tingling sensation.
INDICATIONS:
- Degenerative diseases of the support and musculoskeletal system
- Sensory disturbances / neuropathies
- Circulatory disorders
- Chronic pain
Galvanization
Electrodes are placed on the affected body parts. Depending on the condition, therapy can be performed with different types and intensities of electric currents. By conducting weak electric currents, the nervous system is stimulated, circulation is improved, muscle tension is relieved, and muscles are strengthened.
INDICATIONS:
- Muscle tension
- Chronic joint inflammation
- Arterial and venous circulatory disorders
- Conditions and diseases of the support and musculoskeletal system
Iontophoresis
Similar to galvanotherapy, electrodes are placed on the affected body parts. Additionally, an anti-inflammatory medication is applied during iontophoresis, which becomes more effective or even activated by the electric current.
INDICATIONS:
- Degenerative, inflammatory, rheumatic diseases
- Neuralgia
- Dermatological conditions
- Post-traumatic conditions
Ultrasound / Phonophoresis
A movable head is used to apply ultrasound waves to targeted areas of the body. The generated deep heat relaxes muscles, stimulates healing, and relieves pain. In phonophoresis, a medication is also applied, whose effect is enhanced by the ultrasound.
INDICATIONS:
- Conditions of the support and musculoskeletal system
- Chronic joint inflammation
- Muscular complaints
Ultrasound / Phonophoresis
A movable applicator is used to apply ultrasound waves to targeted areas of the body.
Microwave Therapy
Microwave therapy uses high-frequency energy waves. The frequency determines the penetration depth and distribution of the energy waves, which are absorbed by the tissue. This generates heat, relaxes muscles, and enhances circulation and metabolism in the treated areas.
INDICATIONS:
- Circulatory disorders
- Slow metabolism
- Pain relief
- Chronic rheumatic diseases
Marnitz Therapy
Marnitz massage is a targeted deep massage technique without oil, using a combination of manual techniques such as pressure, traction, and stretching to promote mobility.

- Chronic and acute joint and spinal conditions
- Edema treatment
- Pre- and post-operative treatment
- Orthopedic conditions for mobility improvement and pain relief
- Musculoskeletal disorders
Carbonic Acid Baths
